2023 Guber elections: Collect their money and vote your preferred candidates – President Buhari

2023 Guber Election, President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, had told citizens to collect money from politicians, but vote for their preferred candidates.

According to NAN, Buhari spoke on Saturday after casting his vote at polling unit 003, Sarkin Yara A in Daura, Katsina state.

The governorship and house of assembly elections are taking place across the country today.

While speaking with journalists in Hausa and English, Buhari said his administration has been discouraging every act of vote-buying and monetisation of politics in the country.

He asked politicians involved in vote-buying and monetisation of politics to stop such acts.

“If they (politicians) still give you money, collect, but vote for your preferred candidates,” Buhari said.

He commended the electorate for their confidence in the All Progressive Congress (APC) during the presidential and national assembly elections conducted on February 25.

During the presidential election, the president openly revealed his ballot with his thumbprint when he voted for Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the ruling party.

The president was said to have declined to openly display his ballot paper after voting his candidates in the governorship and house of assembly elections.
