Ned Nwoko, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Delta North, claims that he won’t be able to enjoy his time in the Senate under either Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) or Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
For Nwoko, winning the election in 2023 is not a life-or-death situation. According to The Site News, the politician and business tycoon made this statement today in Asaba during an interactive session with reporters.
Nwoko was a guest at ‘The Platform,’ a programme organized by the Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
In his address, the senatorial candidate said he wouldn’t like to be in the opposition if he emerges as the next senator in the red chamber.
He, thereby, encouraged Nigerians to vote for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, saying being a senator under a candidate of his party will be easier than under an opposition party candidate.
Nwoko stressed that it would be an uphill task for him to go and convince Peter Obi and Tinubu to do what he wanted for him.
He stressed: “It’s almost impossible. But if I have Okowa and Atiku, it’s easy. Please, make room for them. I believe they will make things happen. If I am in opposition, it becomes a problem.”
Nwoko noted that the PDP agenda would be those things discussed and agreed upon with the people. While noting that the same goes for the governor, Nwoko told the people that they were shooting themselves in the leg if they chose to support a candidate of the APC to be governor of Delta State.
“I cannot work with an APC governor. I know him,” he said, soliciting support for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections.
