Super Eagles striker duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi will work under ex-Aston Villa manager, Dean Smith, until the end of this current season.
The Foxes sacked Brendan Rodgers after a run of poor results that saw the former Premier League champions swimming in relegation waters.
Leicester have been with Adam Sandler as caretaker coach since Rodgers left. But they have lost the two games he has taken charge of against Aston Villa and Bournemouth.
The Premier League side has been searching for a new coach to take over the coaching job at the club. former Chelsea boss Graham Potter was heavily linked to the job, but a deal did not materialize.
However, the club announced on Monday that they have appointed Smith as the head coach of the team.
“Leicester City Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Dean Smith as the Club’s First Team Manager until the end of the 2022/23 season,” the club wrote on their website.
Nigerian stars Wilfred Ndidi and Iheanacho have had a troubled season. While Ndidi has struggled with injuries which has affected his playing time, Iheanacho has been third-best to Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka for most parts of the season.
