Previous President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has separated himself from Madam Taiwo Martins, who apologized on his sake for requesting a few rulers in Oyo State to stand up for Senator Seyi Makinde.
Obasanjo had told the conventional rulers that a senator is more capable than any lord.
Madam Taiwo Martins, who claimed to be Obasanjo’s spouse, issued an expression of remorse on his sake.
Be that as it may, in a explanation on Monday, Obasanjo repudiated the lady and demanded that he stands by his comments.
The articulation marked by his media helper, Kehinde Akinyemi, communicated irritation that “one Ms. Taiwo Martins” has wrote a articulation, engaging to Obas and Yorubas to excuse him as her spouse.
Whereas conceding that the he and the lady gave birth to two children, Obasanjo pushed that she isn’t his spouse, not one or the other is she a part of his family.
“For the records, Ms. Martins has two children, Jonwo and Bunmi, for Chief Obasanjo but to say emphatically she isn’t his spouse nor a part of the Obasanjo family.
“Her posing as Chief Obasanjo’s spouse is wrong which of an mountebank. No one makes explanation on sake of the Obasanjo family but Chief Obasanjo or individuals appointed by him to do so.
“The state of wellbeing of Ms. Martins is known to all and sundry and anything she says or does has nothing to do with Chief Obasanjo as an person or the Obasanjo family as a whole,” the articulation said.
The explanation included that Obasanjo has confirmed that “he stood solidly, unapologetically and uncompromisingly on the position that the Governor of a State holds the most noteworthy office within the State”.
“By that position, the regard, convention and nobility that must be given to the Office by ideals of the Structure must not be denied. To do something else is to disparage the Office and the Constitution,” the articulation included.
