Before the gubernatorial election scheduled for March 18th, Nollywood actress Kat Henshaw sent a letter of caution to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Recalling the mistakes made at the general election of 2023, which was conducted on February 25, Kate Henshaw used a microblogging platform to call on the electoral authority to improve. In order to prevent history from being repeated, she requested that their employees prepare all of the essential equipment.
She tweeted: “Calling on @ineclagos @inecnigeria staff. Please pack your equipment well this night o. Bring our complete BVAS plus ink pad, cellotape, pens & enough ballot papers to avoid stories that touch. We don’t want a repeat of what happened last time. Come on time too. Tanx.
Kate Henshaw calls out INEC for disenfranchising her and 20 others
The Site News reported that actress, Kate Henshaw called out INEC for disenfranchising her and twenty others in her polling unit during the presidential election.
The veteran lamented that she has not been able to cast her vote because the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) (an electronic device designed to read Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and authenticate voters) says she is not registered.
Henshaw further disclosed that she found her name on the register on the wall and on INEC register however, she can’t vote. She called on the person in charge of INEC in Lagos to find a quick solution to the problem.
While noting that she won’t take things easy with INEC because they are playing with her destiny, she called on international media bodies like Cable Network News (CNN), and British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to take note of what is happening.
She said: “You people are playing with my destiny. INEC eh! I registered, I transferred my card, i picked up my PVC now you BVAS is saying I’m not registered.
